At Miami First Aid, we know that nothing matters more than the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and community members. Schools and community spaces are where people come together to learn, grow, and connect, and we believe those places should always feel safe and supported.

That’s why we partner with schools and communities to provide the training, equipment, and ongoing services needed to be ready for anything. From classrooms and gyms to auditoriums and community centers, we make it simple to build a safer environment where everyone can thrive.

What Florida's New School Safety Law Means for Schools

Understanding the importance of CPR, AEDs, and being prepared for emergencies, Florida is placing a greater emphasis on life-saving education in schools. New requirements include CPR training for students, an accessible AED, and stronger emergency response planning. In fact, by July 1, 2027, all public schools will be required to have at least one operational AED on campus. These changes help schools build a culture of safety while ensuring both students and staff are better prepared to respond in case that an emergency ever happens.

Let's work together to make sure your students, teachers, and staff have the training, equipment, and confidence they need to respond in an emergency! Call us at 866-277-2337.

Emergencies can happen anywhere, from classrooms to athletic fields. Having staff and even students trained in CPR and AED use ensures that life-saving action can begin immediately while waiting for professional responders, increasing the chances of survival.

Are AEDs safe to use in children?

Yes. AEDs are safe and effective for children. Many devices come with pediatric pads or settings that adjust the energy level for younger patients.

Our team will guide your school on how to use AEDs properly for both adults and children.

Do you offer customized training for schools?

Yes! Every school is unique, so our American Red Cross-certified training can be tailored to your staff, campus, and even students.

We focus on real-life scenarios that fit your environment, ensuring the skills learned are practical and easy to apply.

How often should schools update their first aid and safety equipment?

We recommend checking first aid cabinets monthly and servicing equipment like eyewash stations quarterly. AEDs should be inspected regularly, and programs should be reviewed annually to stay compliant and ensure everything is working properly.

Miami First Aid provides ongoing support to keep your school prepared year-round.

What first aid and emergency equipment are required in schools?

While exact requirements may vary by state, most schools are expected to have fully stocked first aid kits, an AED, bleeding control kits, and eyewash stations.
