He has dedicated his life to the safety of others and has served as a firefighter paramedic in various roles, responding to 911 calls on rescues and fire units, and as a member of the Special Operations Team. Ruben began teaching and running a training center in 1994 at the University of Miami in the Swimming & Diving office’s Swim School & Summer Camp.
He has since developed safety programs and trainings for schools, major sporting venues, fortune 500 companies, and nationwide hotels. Additionally, he created the first of its kind Traveling Safety Team for the Redbull Global Rallycross Series. He was responsible for the safety of its drivers and fans while they raced in various countries.
Ruben founded and operated his Training and Safety products company for over 20 years before being tasked to lead one of the original and most recognizable training companies in Miami, FL. As Training Center Coordinator for American Heart and Red Cross programs and Director of the school’s Florida Department of Education and Board of Nursing approved Vocational Program Ruben primary mission was to ensure the well-being of staff members while exceeding his customers’ expectations.
Jackie is a dynamic, attention driven professional with a passion for customer service. Prior to joining Miami First Aid, Jackie was tasked to overhaul one of Miami’s original American Heart Associations Training Centers. Her efforts leading to the firms’ operations lead to a successful transition and acquisition by a National Training Center. Jackie has been in the Safety Training industry for over 10 years. She became the Operations Director for a Miami-based company called RescueAED. She advanced the company through her work and was instrumental in its sale and acquisition. Due to her tireless work ethic, she has developed a track record for improving the efficiency and workflow of the organization in which she serves.
Ruben started in the warehouse, stocking shelves and decaling AED and First Aid Cabinets. As soon as he reached the minimum age allowed by the American Red Cross, he completed his training and became a CPR and First Aid Instructor. Upon completion of his training, he was hired by one of Miami’s original and longest-standing Training Centers, Nursing Unlimited. There he became the youngest Instructor in the firm’s 60 years of operations. In April of 2023, Ruben came to Miami First Aid and has been busy as the primary educator for Red Cross Classes. As an Emergency Medical Technician [EMT] student at Barry University, he hopes to pursue a career in the Fire Service. Ruben has been a Fire Cadet with the Miami Dade Fire Department and in 2022 was selected as the program Cadet of the year. Also, in 2022 the State of Florida Fire Chiefs Association selected Ruben as the Fire Cadet of the Year for the State of Florida due to his extensive community service and honorable academic achievements.
